What Orisirisi means
“Orisirisi”is a Yoruba word meaning variety. For us, it represents variety in snacking — but it's also about something bigger. It's about the beauty and diversity of the world, and the idea that regardless of our differences, good food brings us together.
How it started
Orisirisi Foods was founded by Toluwanimi Oladipupo in June 2025, shortly after the birth of her first son. But the story starts much earlier.
“I've never been one to stock up on crisps or chocolate bars or fizzy drinks. I dealt with bad episodes of bloating, cramping — and once, food poisoning that led to a hospital admission. So I've always been careful about what I eat. My go-to snacks are usually fruit, nuts, or yoghurt with granola.”
Growing up, one of the snacks Toluwanimi made at home was coconut flakes. When she moved to the UK, she looked for them in shops — and they simply weren't there. So she decided to make them herself.
From sampling to shelves
It started small — sampling in a few stores in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. The feedback was immediate and overwhelming. People loved the taste, the simplicity of the ingredients, and the fact that there were no preservatives. Word spread. More stores followed.
“Selling coconut flakes led me to coconut chips. Talking to customers at farmers markets, I kept hearing the same thing — they wanted that chip-like crunch. So we made it.”
What we believe
Every Orisirisi product is built on one promise: tasty, honest food with simple ingredients and zero preservatives.
Our toasted coconut flakes contain three ingredients — coconut, sugar, and salt. That's it. No artificial flavourings, no preservatives, no shortcuts. Made in Wellingborough, for anyone who thinks food shouldn't need a chemistry degree to understand.
What's next
Toluwanimi's vision is straightforward: for Orisirisi to become the UK's go-to brand for coconut-based snacks. Products rooted in real ingredients, made for everyone — because good food doesn't need to be complicated.
Our Coconut Chips line is launching soon, starting with the Original flavour. We're just getting started.
